Burning Tips

•  Read instructions on the bottom of jar.
•  Always place candles on a protected heat resistant surface away from children and drafts.
•  Never leave burning candle unattended.
•  Never close the lid on a burning candle.
•  It is advisable to put a small amount of water (just enough to cover bottom surface) in the following
glass containers before lighting: 3-wick candy dishes (2 teaspoons), 12 oz. jars for refills
(1 tablespoon), votive holders (1/2 teaspoon), and peg lights (2 teaspoons). The water will reduce
the chance of glass cracking & makes it easier to remove leftover wax.
•  Keep the wick trimmed to 1/8"
•  Keep wax pool free from foreign objects (i.e., matches, wick trimmings).
•  Do not allow flame to directly touch the side of container. Keep wick centred.
•  Recommended burning time for our most popular size of candle (12 oz.) is 5 to 6 hours for the first
time, then at least 3 hours every time after that. (A general rule for burning candles is to burn them
at least 1 hour for every inch in diametre).
•  Once candle has burned down to 1/2" from bottom of jar (width of finger) extinguish candle. After
candle wax has hardened, close the jar, turn jar upside down and put it in the freezer overnight. The
wax will shrink making it easier to remove (see instruction #5). Store leftover wax in a plastic bag
and put in freezer. When the occasion arises that you want the house to smell nice, but do not have
3 hours to burn a candle, take some leftover wax and melt it in a potpourri burner.
•  Store candles in a cool dark place.
